"Everyone can be a singer, but only a few can be a good singer. Everyone can dance, but only a few can be a good dancer. So with photography: everyone can be a photographer but not everyone has the eye of a photographer. I can say, I have the eyes, not the eye of a photographer though, lol!"

Ding Fuellos, the blogosphere's Pinoy Explorer tagged me with this viral net-linking project (whoever started this, add mo 'ko sa friendster). At first, I was reluctant to make my own version because just looking at the photos of (sir) Ding, it made me realized how pitiful I am (oo, para may maawa sa 'kin) that all I have to do is to allow my jaw to drop in awe seeing his photos (not to mention other bloggers who have already done this, which add more pressure whenever I think about them). I told him when he tagged me, "wala akong matinong photos." But he encouraged me, "kaya mo yan."

For no choice, I have to make my own version. The concept of this project is to showcase your super shots under 7 themes as will be shown below. I don't consider these photos super shots though, I just picked randomly from some photos uploaded in my facebook account.

Suyo, Ilocos Sur

Takes my Breathe Away
The Ultra-scenic Tagudin-Cervantes-Sabangan Road | Suyo, Ilocos Sur
June 12, 2010

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was not yet a "blogger" then when I took this photo. Although traveling has been my passion, photography has always been my fashion, lol! I actually travel to capture the beauty of the place and after that? Upload my photos to my facebook and friendster (back then) accounts for my friends to see.

I actually used a borrowed dijikam when I reached the town of Suyo. Everytime I see this photo, it reminds me of the beauty of this town on which I reached by accident including my unforgettable experience of  sitting on a motorbike for a total of 12 hours with a butt all numb plus drinking in waterfalls we pass along the road because we were so thirsty that we forgot to bring our bottle of water. Unfortunately, there is no store or any house to ask for water along the road - only waterfalls.

I believe this photo can not justify the "actual" beauty of the place. It really takes my breathe away and at the actual place, the possibility of falling to the cliff is high, so once you fall, uh, your breathe taken away!

Mayon Volcano

Makes me Dream
Behind the Clouds, Mayon is Still Standing | Legazpi City, Albay
June 2011

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When I visited Albay, Mt. Mayon wasn't that selfish to veil her beauty but at some points of time, the volcano gets shy. The photo shows a sea of clouds covering the majesty of the volcano but the clouds were not enough to conceal the beauty of the volcano - the volcano still stands with beauty and might even if what you can only see is the tip of it.

It makes me dream because this photo shows a very good lesson for us to ponder. In our lives, storms may come, circumstances may pull us down, struggles may discourage us but behind these negative vibrations, there is always a room for hope and improvement.

Like Mayon, clouds may cover her, but behind those thick clouds, her beauty remains. For us human, behind our circumstances, our brain remains at work, 'di ba? May connect ba? lol!

Makes me Think
At the banks of the Abra River | Santa, Ilocos Sur | March 2012

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The photo just makes me think of how are we going to survive if we are alone in an island. That's it! I can not write more because I am still thinking until now. :-) Hehe.

By the way, the photo above is not an island. It is actually at the bank of a river which is the Abra River in Santa, Ilocos Sur.

 Makes Me Laugh or Smile
The Trike Toploader Kids | San Quintin, Abra | December 2011

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The photo makes me smile or at an extent laugh. I smile because of happiness to see the ingenuity of the Filipino children and their resourcefulness is already flowing at their blood stream as early as their age now... Wow!

Rainy season is about to come so they have to get woods and store them to be used for the rainy season.

It makes me laugh because of realizing myself that when I was a kid, I look like them too - yes, I also experienced gathering woods in our province when I was a kid. Just a happy memory, laughing at myself now nang pilit (ang hirap i-connect eh, lol)! So I have to laugh myself now, Hahaha,, hahaha. Bwahahaha..Ang saya-saya. Hahahaha! LOL! O ayan, may connect na! It makes me laugh. \m/

Makes My Mouth Water
Mandarin Oriental Hotel | Makati City | March 2011

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I spent one summer at this hotel when I was that lucky nurse to represent our province during a national convention of nurses.

It was hot, of course and as I went at the hotel's pool with hungry tummy, my reaction is "kanin please!" View pa lang, ulam na! LOL! Mouth-watery view. Haha.

No other food has made my mouth water aside from this food for the eyes. LOL! I am just seeing these girls for free and take note, I can even go near if I wanted! Ulam na ulam, yay!

  7. All wonderful photos, but the one that truly got my by the lapels is the Makes me Think photo. I like the composition and the contrasts in color and sizes of the subject and its background. The man looks puny in the natural world, but at the same time he stands out.

  8. Who said you haven't got the eyes of a photographer?...tell him he is right!BECAUSE you have the eyes of an ARTIST..many learned to photograph well but few are gifted with the passion of an artist to make their photography a brilliant work of art..it's not just the view, it's the story that each of your photo tells, that makes it excellent. Well done.

  10. I like the mayon shot edmar. Basically, all of us has that beauty inside, even on how we veil it, it will just show naturally. If we nurture that kindness in us, we always leave a legacy of virtue to generations to generations. With that, we will all be remembered.
