 ►  Blogger's Review

• Customer Service: On 2023-August-20, I dined inside this store for the first time. There was a security guard who opened the door for me and cheerfully greeted me with "Welcome, sir." The order queue was not long at that time (around 07:30 PM, Sunday). The transition from one customer to another was smooth. There were 5 crew members at the frontline at that moment with different roles and responsibilities. One crew member was assigned to the cash register (there are two cash registers). The single operating cash register was not an issue for me, though; because there were only a few customers at that time; so I didn't have to wait for too long. The frontline crew member who assisted us with our orders was courteous and calm. She even patiently explained to me the available menu without rushing or pressuring me as a customer, even though she seemed tired and was about to end her shift.

On 2023-August-14, I went to the store when I heard about its opening. However, I decided not to enter because I saw how long the queue was. This could be attributed to the fact that it was newly opened. The long line was understandable.



• Located inside a popular tourist zone: If you love to dine in a Dunkin' store and you are looking for a rustic old world feel at the same time, then this store is for you. It's located at Calle Bonifacio, but the store is a few steps away from the famous Calle Crisologo.

• Interior: As a resident of Vigan, I appreciate the effort done to complement the old world character of the store. The artistic tiles and stairway definitely were consistent with the Vigan theme, transforming the store into a typical Vigan ancestral house setting. The space inside, though, was smaller than what I expected. The dining tables are located in the loft. The ground floor has a high ceiling that postures an impressive breathable and spacious optics.

The gray wall was genius for me. It gave an acceptable antithesis of modernity while it posed itself as a plain canvass to highlight the details of the interior.

• Parking space: Calle Crisologo and its crossroads are very narrow, Hence, there is a limited parking space near the store for cars. For motorcycles, there are roadside parking spaces at V- de los Reyes St, Plaridel St, or along Bonifacio St. I don't blame the store, though. It's not their fault. This old part of Vigan was not originally designed to have wide parking spaces. This is just a reminder that if you want to dine in this store, leave your cars somewhere. It would be better to walk towards the store because it's located in a typically pedestrian tourist area. The location of the store is meant for foot traffic.

• Night Time: The store exterior blends well with the other ancestral structures around the historic district. As a resident of Vigan, I'm pretty much accustomed to the stores and shops in the area. However, for an unsuspecting first-time visitor, you may not notice that this house is actually a Dunkin' Donut store. The store has a small sign board because stores inside the historic district are not allowed to display attention-seeking large ones.

Bavarian Donut

On 2023-Augut-20, I tried their Bavarian Donut at 30 pesos each. There's a variety of flavors to choose from. In my case, I tried their strawberry Bavarian and the vanilla Bavarian. The consistency for me was a little harder than I expected. My preference would be the softer ones. The vanilla was a little bit bland for me, although this is subjective. It could be too sweet for the others. The strawberry flavor, in my opinion, was better and richer in flavor.

Icy Chocolate

On 2023-Augut-20, I tried this beverage. I ordered for the large one. Like any other popular food chains, the serving was filled with a lot of ice by default; hence, the net serving of the beverage was only half the cup. It was refreshing though. I like the blend. It suited my love for sweet drinks.

Brewed Coffee

On my 2023-Augut-20 visit, I also tried their brewed coffee. I'd admit that there is nothing super special with the brewed coffee. It was just a standard serving typical for a food chain. However, with my love for coffee coupled with its availability in this store, I'd give this store an additional thumbs up. I was given creamer and sugar add-ons for free. I appreciate that the crew members asked me if I needed some add-ons.

• 798th Store in the Philippines: The Dunkin' Vigan is the 798th store of the brand in the Philippines which opened on 2023-Aug-13. This store opened along with other 12 branches in the Philippines including the 799th store in Robinson's Ilocos (San Nicolas) and the 800th store in Laoag.

• Second Store to Open in Vigan: This store is the second Dunkin' Donut store to open in Vigan. The first one opened in 2016 at Quezon Avenue. Unfortunately, that store was affected by the pandemic in 2020. It has been closed permanently.

 ►  Historical Timeline and Updates

• 2023-August-20: 7 days after its opening, I have finally seen the interior of the store. I brought my little cousin with me because my purpose was to dine inside and take photos. I wanted someone to be with me while dining, so I dragged my cousin in tow.

• 2023-August-14: After hearing the news that Dunkin' has officially returned in Vigan, I visited the store to take photos of the new location. • 2023-August-13: Dunkin' Donuts made a comeback to Vigan on 2023-August-13 as it opened its new store at Calle Bonifacio. Dunkin' Philippines made a 13x13 celebration by opening 13 new stores in the Philippines on the 13th day of August 2023. Vigan was part of this historic event for the brand. Vigan was tagged as Dunkin' Philippines' 798th store. This day also marked the brand's milestone in achieving their 800th store in Laoag.
